At 9Design.Be, we’ve redefined the electric lock! Leveraging decades of expertise in installation and design, we’ve created a solution that caters to all applications — from doors and gates to windows, sliding doors, and push-bars.

One Lock, Endless Applications

We recognized that the sheer variety of electric locks often complicates installations. Our goal was simple but ambitious: develop one versatile electric lock that adapts to every scenario. After years of dedication, innovation, and collaboration, the result is the C30 electric lock, a groundbreaking product designed for reliability, security, and efficiency.

A Journey of Expertise

Our story began in 1998 as Product Developers and Interior Architects. In 2003, we ventured into the world of electric locks by establishing ASL (Airoc Security Locks). Starting with minimal knowledge, we relied on skilled technicians to teach us the intricacies of motor locks, solenoid locks, panic locks, and more.

In 2010, a client’s request to secure sectional gates sparked our first innovation. We developed bar locks but found them too heavy and costly. This challenge inspired the concept of a lightweight electric bolt lock. After years of experimentation and refinement, 9design.be was born in 2012 to focus on creating the ideal electric lock.

The Evolution of the C30 Electric Lock

Through relentless development and testing, we designed hundreds of prototypes. Our breakthrough came in 2023, when we simplified production, reduced costs, and improved durability. The C30 electric lock is now:

Fail-safe and secure: Resistant to external magnet manipulation.
Durable: Engineered to withstand over 1 million uses.
Energy-efficient: Operating on as little as 5mA.
Versatile: Compatible with push-bars, fire doors, and waterproof applications.

Who We Are

At 9Design, we are a small but dynamic team of two people running an entire company powered by Odoo — from production planning to customer support.

We collaborate with nine trusted suppliers, handle storage and worldwide shipping via DHL, and work with a specialized assembly partner to ensure consistent product quality.

All our products are officially certified by an independent government-approved inspection company.

In Belgium, our freelance technicians handle installations for professional security firms, who currently make up our entire customer base.

Our next step is scaling this model worldwide, building strong collaborations with motivated technicians and security companies who share our passion for innovation and reliability.
